We’re featuring two books brimming with compassionate (yet practical) solutions to everyday problems encountered by families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or related conditions. Our authors know first-hand there is little time in a caregiver’s day to read a lot at one sitting. Therefore, every page in their caregiver books stands alone, offering an uplifting reflection and a practical caregiving tip based on experience and grounded in love. As you continue on this site, you’ll be able to read sample pages from the books and also learn about caregiver workshops and programs created by the authors.

Workshops and Seminars

Get the help you need!

A Breath of Fresh Air workshop for caregivers!

Together, Lyn and Bill Roche present a refreshing workshop laced with love and necessary humor only those who experience day-today caregiving can understand.  Their unique two-hour workshop is non-technical and user friendly.  They share and deal with Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions in a practical, realistic manner designed to uplift caregivers and validate the dignity of their memory-impaired care recipients.  Both family caregivers and professional caregivers benefit greatly by experiencing “a Breath of Fresh Air”.

While writing Coping With Caring, Lyn circulated questionnaires to caregivers across the U.S.  The common concerns and feelings expressed in the responses prompted Lyn and Bill to create a 10-page workbook used by workshop attendees.  It is designed to ease caregiver stress and deal with the ongoing challenges.  Participants come away armed with new tools and insights into the all-important job of taking just as good care of themselves as they do those they care for.  Call 800-596-2455 for information on scheduling a workshop for caregivers in your area.  Do it today!

How To Be A Friend To An Alzheimer’s Caregiver Seminar!

While traveling the country meeting with caregivers, Lyn and Bill hear one overwhelmingly common statement from primary caregivers.  They say, “Our friends don’t come around anymore and our church seems to have forgotten about us, too.”

Lyn and Bill believe people really want to help.  They began offering presentations to civic groups, retirement communities and faith communities.  How to Be A Friend To An Alzheimer’s Caregiver” was birthed.  Be sure to contact them if you’d like your group to do a better job of reaching out to families affected by Alzheimer’s or related conditions.  Service clubs and churches around the country have learned to bless those caring for a memory-impaired loved one.

Sharing The Care Presentations!

Most family caregivers want to take care of their loved ones at home forever.  But, for numerous reasons it isn’t always possible.  As advanced age and/or irreversible conditions progress, the daily care of professionals often becomes necessary.  Lyn and Bill Roche wrote

Sharing The Care to advance a team approach to caregiving.  They cast caring for the elderly in a new exciting light.  Family caregivers and professionals now work together to insure continued loving care.  They have created an insightful, interactive seminar based on their personal experience with care facilities and the book they wrote.  Hosting this presentation in your Adult Living Facility or skilled care facility is an excellent way to introduce your adult care center to families in your community.  For more info, call 800-596-2455.

Support Groups

Caring for a loved one with dementia can be an extremely stressful and challenging experience.  It need not be a lonely one, but unfortunately for many caregivers, it is.

Isolation can be damaging to both the caregiver and their memory-impaired loved one.  Whether you are a primary caregiver at home or your loved one resides in a care facility, you need a safe place where you can come weekly to share with others who are experiencing similar circumstances, feelings, frustrations, and successes.  Yes, successes!

Lyn and Bill Roche, for many years, have facilitated a weekly support group.  It’s a peaceful time of fellowship and love shared around a table brimming with warm, home-baked cookies, hot coffee, and juice.

Caregivers need a place to come weekly to relax, share concerns, ideas, and form relationships with other families going through the same life-changing experience.

Bill and Lyn are available to help your organization or faith community form and set up your own caring place.  As facilitators they’ve learned why some support groups are successful and some are not.  They know what works and what doesn’t.  Don’t try to start one without Lyn and Bill’s help!  Call them!  (800)596-2455
